Many men and woman have sacrificially given so much to this country so we can enjoy freedom. These heroes have paid the price through their military service. It's time to give back by placing these unsung Heroes in a HOME.

The purpose of a House Is A Home For Heroes is to raise awareness of and action on the problems of homeless veterans both locally and nationwide.  The Foundation promotes both thought and action on the issue of homeless veterans that otherwise might not get public attention and national recognition.  Homelessness among our veterans continues to be serious problems for many individuals and families in our country.  Among the adult homeless population in America, approximately one third are veterans. There are an estimated 275,000 homeless veterans nationally on any given night, and 5,500 in our Nations Capitol alone. According to the federal government, veterans make up 9% of the U.S. population but 23% of the homeless population. Among homeless men, veterans make up 33%.

Our Vision

A House Is A Home For Heroes is a partnership between Talking It Up Show, Inc and Antioch Homes, a provider of housing and services to people who are homeless.

Our vision is to:
  • Serve by speaking with a unified and independent voice; planning and coordinating an integrated, community-based system through collaborations among members; and promoting and supporting skilled leadership among our members;

  • Play a major role in the reduction of homelessness by actively promoting strategic collaborations to measurably reduce homelessness over the next five years; and increasing public awareness and support for homeless issues.
